What's this, a new character? One that isn't a yellow dog?

Yep, this is Bremner, my Toronto-themed raccoon. Because coons are cute, the semi-official mascot of this city, and I've had this idea spinning in my head for years.

I finished this drawing earlier this month, though it took time to colour it and fill in the background and name.

Oddly, his name is the last thing I settled on, but for non-Torontonians, Bremner Boulevard is a short (1.2km) road between Toronto's two main sports venues (the ACC and SkyDome), that also passes the CN Tower, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and Roundhouse Park. It's a busy part of the local entertainment district, downtown near the waterfront.

As for Bremner's design, he is heavily based on the flag of Toronto. This was actually my third attempt to emulate that look in the past year alone. Noticeably, the pattern for the flag appears on both his torso and face.

I think this also counts as my first attempt to draw raccoon hands with that much (red) skin on the palms and fingers. It's a bit closer to how they actually look, versus my previous attempts.

Now if you excuse me, it's time to lock up the bins in Maple Leaf Square.
